About SLO TBC
San Luis Obispo Technical & Business Communicators (SLO TBC), formerly San Luis Obispo county chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (SLO STC), has held regular educational and professional development events since 2002. We have unfortunately suspended events because of ongoing professional schedule conflicts, but hope to resume in the future.
Who we are: Technical and business communicators comprise a wide range of professionals, including technical and business writers, editors, and illustrators; publication specialists; instructional designers and trainers; Web designers and developers; graphic designers; presentation designers; information architects; usability and human factors specialists; multimedia producers; and translators.
We warmly welcome students, solo professionals, entrepreneurs, and people from corporate, academic, non-profit, and public service organizations in the technical, creative, and business arenas.
About our area: Located on the beautiful California Central Coast about halfway between Los Angeles and the Bay Area, San Luis Obispo (SLO) county boasts the prestigious California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and a mix of vibrant rural and semi-urban cities. Known for their pioneering innovation and start-up energy, local entrepreneurs and information professionals draw on their wealth of experience and knowledge from a broad spectrum of cutting-edge industries.
